Fen Ditton Primary School

We have had another fun half term in Neverland Class and have continued to settle into school life brilliantly.

Neverland has made lots of progress in Read Write Inc. and many children can now read and spell words all by themselves. ‘Drawing Club’ has continued to motivate and excite children to create their own imaginative pictures and learn new and ambitious vocabulary. We have been counting every day, and learning to recognise and sequence numbers. Neverland’s subitising skills have improved such a lot already!

In Geography, we enjoyed practising our fieldwork skills, making a colourful bookmark from our seasonal collection. Everyone showed lots of interest in learning about nocturnal animals and particularly enjoyed finding out about owls.

Taking part in the Nativity performance not only gave children the opportunity to learn about why we celebrate Christmas, but also to sing and even speak on the stage in front of an audience. Thank you for the very kind comments about how well the children performed. In Design Technology, children made sliding pictures and Christmas cards - they looked very cute dressed as elves popping up out of the chimney top!
