Penguins Archive 2017-2018
We have read the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and learnt it off by heart. We had a go at planting our own beanstalks but sadly none of them have grown as big as Jacks.
This term we have had great fun playing lots of board games. Whilst playing we have been practicing our counting skills, speaking and listening and improved our turn taking.
We thoroughly enjoyed Pancake Day. We made our own pancakes and each had a go at tossing it in the pan. We tried lots of yummy toppings and voted ‘sugar and lemon’ as our Class favourite. We had to pay for our chosen topping using 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p and 20ps. We even had a pancake tossing competition and we each got to use a stop clock to time our friends.
We have just started attending our Forest School sessions and we are having so much fun. We have enjoyed Den making, tree climbing, Pond dipping, Swinging on ropes, drinking hot chocolate and making oat cakes on an open fire. Next week we are going to toast marshmallows!
We have been learning all about the signs of Autumn and Harvest Festival. We have enjoyed tasting and learning to name a wide variety of fruits and vegetable. We carefully chopped up lots of vegetables and made a very yummy Pumpkin soup.
We have been inspired by the work of Giuseppe Archimboldo and made our own Vegetable self-portraits.
