Fen Ditton Primary School

Governing Body

Thank you for visiting the Governors' section of the School website.

Our Governing Body consists of fourteen Governors.  Four are Parent Governors, one nominated by the Local Authority, one Staff Governor and seven are Co-opted Governors from the local community or nominated by the County Council.  The Head also serves on the gGoverning Body. There are currently 10 Governors in post and 4 vacancies.

We have various duties which are laid down by law. We are responsible for the way the school will develop, we appoint the Head, we maintain policies to cover how the school works, we ensure that money is available and decide how it is spent, we monitor the educational achievement of pupils and the development of the staff.

However, we aim to do more than that. We try to maintain our membership from all walks of life so that we can bring a wide experience of the world to the school. We aim to develop good relationships with the Head, staff, parents and the local community. We are not educational professionals but by our varied backgrounds we aim to encourage and support those who are. Our aim is to play our part in ensuring our children get the best education we can provide for them.

We are regularly looking for people to expand the range of our experience so please talk to any of us if you would like more information on how we work.

You can contact us through the School or use my email below.
